It's a date. You eat em'!

Let’s talk dates. They are naturally wrinkly, a little ugly and weird looking. However, they have an amazing sweet, almost caramel like flavor. They are often used as a sweetener in healthy baked goods.

But today we decided to mix it up and went a little savory with our dates! Roasted garlic, feta stuffed dates... oh yeah, wrapped in bacon then drizzled with warm honey. Drooling yet?

Give it a try, I promise they won’t disappoint!

Ingredients

• Bacon, cut into strips, just big enough to wrap a date

• 2 roasted garlic cloves finely minced • 1/3 cup feta cheese, finely crumbled

• 2 tablespoons cream cheese, room temperature

• About 20 dried dates

Tools

• Tooth picks

Instructions

1. Cut a slit along each date, remove the pit. Place aside.

2. Mix roasted garlic, feta and cream cheese together until well combined.

3. Fill each date with feta mixture.

4. Wrap a piece of bacon around each date, close and secure the bacon with a toothpick.

5. Bake in the oven at 400°F for about 16 minutes, or until browned and crisp.

6. Transfer them onto a plate lined with paper towel to absorb the grease from the bacon.

7. Just before serving drizzle with warm honey. Best served warm!
